5 Reasons Why You’ll Love Indoor Skydiving

Wednesday, June 8, 2016

Indoor skydiving is a great way to experience the feeling of freefall without actually jumping from a plane. Here are 5 reasons why you’ll love it (and why we do too)!

1) Experience the Extraordinary

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to fly?

It’s a dream many of us have as kids. Imagine it; you’d feel weightless, able to lift yourself off the ground and fly to anywhere you’d like. It’s something we typically think is reserved for birds and superheroes. But you can do it too!

Indoor skydiving gives you the chance to experience full body flight. Indoor skydiving happens in a vertical wind tunnel, basically a tube of fast moving air which simulates the air speed and direction skydivers are faced with when they jump out of a plane.

Your body will feel supported by the airflow, giving you the very real sensation of flying. You can control your body in flight too, by moving your arms and legs. It really is a dream come true for many people!

2) Learn a New Skill

Many of the people who visit our wind tunnel do so as a one-off experience. That’s absolutely fine! It’s a fun activity for all ages. With our outdoor skydiving center just down the road, you could even experience both in the same day!

For others, their first trip to the wind tunnel is the beginning of a brand new hobby. Once you’ve experienced flight, you can start to control it and over time, you’ll be able to perform more maneuvers in the air. You can even start flying with other people, practicing moves like 4 way formation skydiving or freeflying. There are even indoor skydiving competitions in which you can participate and potentially win medals.

Indoor skydiving is a great hobby that allows you to learn a new and interesting skill.

3) Skydiving Community

One of the best things about skydiving is the community that surrounds it. Skydivers are a unique group, bringing together people from all walks of life with a common passion.

The same applies to indoor skydiving as it does to outdoor skydiving. The people you meet participating in a sport like this will become your friends for life. With a large spectator area and a stream of regular flyers thanks to the skydiving center down the road, Paraclete XP is one of the most sociable wind tunnels you could visit. It’s a great place to meet new people and make new friends.

4) Get a Workout

Something many people don’t realize is that skydiving is a sport, as is indoor skydiving. Like golf or swimming, it’s a sport where your success is determined only by your performance and can’t be influenced by that of others.

And like most sports, indoor skydiving can help you keep fit. Some people have suggested half an hour of flying can burn up to 300 calories, which is more than you’d burn in the same time jogging.

5) Fun for All the Family

You need to be 18 years old to jump out of an airplane. But these restrictions don’t apply to the same extent indoors (get in touch if you’d like more details). We regularly welcome first-time flyers who are only 2 or 3 years old!

This means you can enjoy indoor skydiving with the whole family. It’s different, it’s exciting and it’s a unique experience to share together. Visit our website to learn more about what to expect, or if you’d like to speak to a member of our team, please contact us directly.
